Runway can drive a performance too
Runway can animate a character from a video of someone performing, expressions and mouth movements included. So motion transfer on its own is not a reason to switch.
The difference is who has to perform. That route needs a person on camera delivering the lines. A voiced scene in HexUGC needs nobody: the script is spoken by the voice stamped on your character when you created it, and the still is lip-synced to that audio.
When you do want borrowed movement, HexUGC calls it motion reference. You paste a link to a clip that already performs, a TikTok URL included, and your influencer performs that motion in a silent scene while keeping its own face and pose. That scene sits in the same project as the voiced ones, so the movement, the talking and the captions land in one file without an export and re-import between tools.
The unit here is a character, not a shot
What HexUGC stores is the influencer. You write a description and get one character sheet: front, left, right and back, head to toe, optionally anchored to photos of a real face. Every still you make afterwards is generated from that sheet rather than from the last image you liked, which is what stops a face drifting into a different person over thirty posts. Those stills build a small library: a kitchen, a street, a desk. For a video you pick one, direct it in a sentence, then write the script or have one drafted from a brief. What this does not do
The limits, stated plainly, because this category oversells.
We are not a creative suite. No text-to-video of arbitrary scenes, no editing of footage you shot, no cinematic establishing shots. Vertical talking-to-camera creator video is the whole remit, so if you want range, keep the suite and use this for the account.
We generate one video at a time. Multi-variant and batch generation are on our roadmap rather than shipped, so forty cuts of one hook in an afternoon is not a job for us.
We do not publish or schedule to TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. You download the file and post it yourself.
There is no free tier. You pay from the first generation. A 10 second voiced video costs 28 credits, so Starter at $15 a month works out at roughly 10 videos and Creator at $30 at roughly 21.
And you trade control for speed. If you want to direct every frame, a suite gives you the handles.
